I have not posted anything for awhile, because I have been quite busy. I have been enjoying my grandchildren, and we have had a few extra responsibilities to take care of as well. Gordon has had a few BAD days, but seems to be coping a little better presently. Please continue to pray that God will comfort his heart and give him peace.
I continue to believe God for my healing. I have said before, I do not know where this path will lead, but I trust the ONE who leads COMPLETELY!! Just want to share this excerpt from David Jeremiah's book, A bend in the road.
Using Psalm 71, Mr. Jeremiah comments that David’s pilgrimage embodies both human defeat and Godly victory. We should have a realistic view of adversity, but we should remember the character of God.
Psalm 71 v. 8--God’s glory; v.18—God’s power and strength; v.22 God’s faithfulness; v. 2. 15, 16, 19, 24—God is righteous
“We must never forget that God is righteous and good, that He is a God who can be trusted. Things may be bad, and they can always be worse, but God never changes. He is never any less in control. He never has a smaller portion of love for us, and His plan for us does not deviate in the tiniest detail. All else changes but God. We have a God who is trustworthy.” He makes no mistakes.
We should rejoice in celebration to God. From birth I have relied on you; you brought me forth from my mother's womb. I will ever praise you.
In the midst of his suffering, David’s prayer is filled with praise and worship.
v.8 My mouth is filled with your praise, declaring your splendor all day long.
v.14-15 But as for me, I will always have hope; I will praise you more and more. My mouth will tell of your righteousness, of your salvation all day long, though I know not its measure.
v.22-24 I will praise you with the harp for your faithfulness, O my God; I will sing praise to you with the lyre, O Holy One of Israel. 23) My lips will shout for joy when I sing praise to you—I, whom you have redeemed. 24) My tongue will tell of your righteous acts all day long, for those who wanted to harm me have been put to shame and confusion.
This is one way we can obey God. We praise Him in the dark night, even though we may not feel like it. We praise Him because of his faithfulness to us in the past. Mr. Jeremiah reflects that “praise not only benefits God, but it also benefits us.”
