Today's Update

As I continue to seek what God has for me to learn in my situation, My heart is overflowing with gratitude for His faithfulness, His mercy, and His provision in my life. In counting my blessings, I just want to share with everyone how blessed I am to have such a wonderful family. First of all God has blessed me with a wonderful husband, who has loved me unconditionally the better part of 40 years. We have truly grown old together. He keeps reminding me after all these surgeries, etc., that the "golden years" are not really very golden!! He has truly been a blessing from God, although I must admit, there were sometimes I might have debated that! My children have truly been a blessing from the Lord. They rarely gave us any serious problems growing up. We never had to wonder where they were, or who they were with. and they have married two wonderful girls. AND they have given us 3 beautiful (:-) grandchildren. I know many of you cannot relate, but that is why they are called GRANDchildren, because they are GRAND!! They truly are a reward for not killing your children!! The Lord has blessed our family with two of the most wonderful daughters-in-love that anyone could have. The Bible admonishes us to give honor to whom honor is due and I am TRULY a BLESSED woman because of these two LADIES He has added to our family!! They have been loving wives and mothers and great daughters-in-law!! Now after all these accolades I am sure Elesha won't mind posting this on my blog (:-).
In searching for a reason I have not been healed as yet, I am reminded that it is not my problem. It is God's--and it is not really a problem for Him. My reputation is not at stake here, and He can and will do with me whatever He chooses. I am more than willing to receive healing in my body but for some reason it has not come. Does that change who God is? Absolutely NOT!!
So I would like to share part of my morning devotional with everyone.
We must remember WHO God is!
"He is the Almighty God. He is the God who heals. He is the God of peace. He is the God who forgives. He is the God who provides, and He is the God who is in control. He knows everything that is happening. He is not caught off guard. His love is perfect." from Susan A. Yates, A House Full of Friend
In these troubled times we need to be reminded that God is not surprised by ANY of these circumstances, in our life personally, or in the world today. We should focus on who God is instead of our own personal circumstances. When I do not FEEL healed, I need to remind myself that God is both able and willing to do "all that I think or ask." If His love is "perfect toward me" (and it is), He is concerned about what is occurring in my life. His word tells us that He is compassionate about our needs. Think about the word compassion. What kind of word picture does it draw in your mind? The one I see is a Savior, with outstretched arms, dying on a cross, so I could have redemption for my soul, and healing for my body.
So when I am tempted to look at my circumstances, I will choose to remember WHO GOD IS!!

Oh, dear sweet sister/friend, you have again brought me to tears with your words of wisdom and encouragement. You truly are a devoted daughter of the King of kings. It is true that we need to remember and praise God for Who He is past, present, and future. You have such a wondrous and unbelievable attitude toward your situation. You make us all strong in the strength I know you get from our Savior and Lord. Keep the faith and keep believing. Blessings to you and your wonderful family.
