Annalie home from 1st oncologist appointment

She met with Dr. Noel Estopinal today. He is an oncologist here in Huntsville. He verified what Dr. Pickett told her that she has a glioblastoma. He says she is stage 4. She will have a lot of appointments in the next week or so. She will be scheduled for an MRI next week, a meeting with the radiation oncologist and another appointment to get fitted for a simulator for her head to help with the radiation pinpointing. She is also getting scheduled for an appointment with a neuro-oncologist in Vanderbilt. This is just to get a second opinion from someone more specialized.

The following week she will begin radiation. She will have 30 days of radiation every day. There will also be weekly appointments on Wednesday with her radiation oncologist. While she is undergoing the radiation, she will also be taking oral chemotherapy. Dr. Estopinal confirmed what she was told on Monday that this is terminal and gave her an estimate of about 6 months - 2 years.

Medically these are the facts. But I know that if God chooses to do so, He can and will heal her. We are still praying and beliving in that. Annalie's spirits are better than the rest of ours as I'm sure all of you who know her can imagine. She is still concerned about making life difficult for the rest of us or being a burden. She doesn't know how much a blessing she is, always has been and always will be.

Pray for all of us. We love you all.

Aunt Annie and family,

As we pray together for you, there has been and will be a lot of tears in the family, as there has been a lot of laughter over the years.

We will be praying for you, Aunt Annie, for your healing, and for your joy.

Here is a poem that a friend sent to Gracie and I that means a lot to us:

"Before the winds that blow do cease,
Teach me to dwell within Thy calm:
Before the pain has passed in peace,
Give me, my God, to sing a psalm.
Let me not lose the chance to prove
the fullness of enabling love.
O Love of God, do this for me:
Maintain a constant victory."
