Latest update

We had a really nice trip to Gatlinburg, a very nice prelude to the circumstance awaiting our return home. The leaves had BARELY begun to turn there, but those of you who have visited there know that anytime you go there, it is beautiful. It is beyond my comprehension that people can look at something so majestic and consider that it was all created by happenstance!! It is just not possible. Just wanted to give an update on Gordon's surgery. The doctor says he thinks it was successful, though time only will tell. He (Gordon) has been pretty miserable, but is beginning to improve as of today. He returns to the doctor on Fri. for a follow-up visit. Hope we get good news then. On top of all that has happened to us, Brant's and Elesha's house flooded this week. The pressure regulator valve malfunctioned, causing a pressurized leak in Gavin's bathroom, which ran all night and flooded the house. They have had to pack up and move out for a few months while this is repaired. Just when we think nothing else can happen, GUESS WHAT??Even after all this, Elesha has time and patience to post my Blog! THANKS ELESHA!! Today is Todd's (my eldest son) 34 birthday. Boy does that make me feel old. I fixed his favorite meal tonight, pintos, turnip greens, and cornbread, and we had birthday cake and ice cream. Sarah Grace (his little 1 yr. old) thought the chocolate cake was good stuff!! Thanks for your continued prayers for my recovery. Things seem to be pretty normal right now, although some days my energy level is not as high as I would like. Oh well, I guess we can't have everything.

Sorry to have been so lax in checking your blog. Glad to hear that your reports so far have been encouraging. You are remembered in prayer by our church and SS class. I am so sad that Gordon had to have his neck surgery redone, but glad to hear that he is doing well. I heard of Brant and Elesha's disaster from Barbara Strong, their neightbor. Terry does her yardwork. I pray that things will go well in their efforts to get back into their home. Give Todd my belated birthday wishes and tell him he's getting OLD and making us OLDER. :)
Many blessings to you and your family,
Linda
