Thank you so much for your encouraging emails, cards, and most of all your prayers. Believe me I FEEL them! I met with Dr. Dang today following my MRI on Mon. He said he thinks things are good. The tumor has shrunk, and there is no indication of any others developing. My blood work is normal as well. Because of the location of the tumor, he wants to continue MRI every 2 months. He said if anything begins to develop, they want to get right on it.
I have felt really good for most of this week, more like my old self that since all this began. Have had a little cold, but nothing too significant.
God continues to be faithful to me, bringing encouragement when I need it the most. It seems I need continually to be reminded that this battle is not mine, but His. God has an "expected end" toward which He continually moves us. He desires for us to acknowledge Him as COMPLETELY sovereign over every decision and direction of our lives. His commands are not for His ego, but for us. His insistence is based on our success, on our victory." Beth Moore, Living beyond yourself.
She goes on to say that "God wills us to 'grow in the knowledge' of the Lord Jesus Christ, that we may be thoroughly furnished; but the issue of spirituality rests upon 'yieldedness' to the Holy Spirit's control. It is always the result of a deliberate choice to yield...to consciously surrender. If we are going to live as a spiritual woman, it will result from a deliberate, conscious surrender to the Holy Spirit of God."
Surrender must be a daily choice. (Have you noticed that spirituality seems to be taxed by husbands and children?) We are spiritual when we are out of control and the Holy Spirit is in control.
Gal. 6:9-10 "Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up..." God brings results from our obedience; we do not. We must let Him do His job in His "proper" time (Isa. 40:31). We have everything we need by virtue of the Holy Spirit within us to bear our load.
I am so thankful it is not up to me. I have nothing to prove here. My part is to yield. He will do the rest.
